Commencing in 1955, Alfred Nuttall Kindergarten has established an excellent reputation as a nurturing kindergarten providing an important service in the community. Close to public transport, the centre is situated close to and liaises with the Perry Street Child Care Centre so that 4 Year Old Group children can use both facilities (staff are responsible for walking the children between the two centres).
The friendly and approachable staff include two highly qualified and experienced teachers with special education training. Enthusiastic and dedicated, they are committed to encouraging each child's uniqueness in an atmosphere of warmth, safety and trust. Perry Street Child Care Centre | |
The Kindergarten program has been developed to provide a stimulating and flexible curriculum that promotes a love of learning and encourages each child to realise their full potential. The kindergarten has a large air conditioned, naturally lit and well equipped playroom and includes a well organised and secure outdoor play area with several large shade trees, storage shed, covered sandpit, swings and climbing equipment covered with sun shelters. The building is easily identified by the mural on the front wall.
Committee of Management
A Committee of Management, formed by parents, operates the kindergarten. The Parent Committee meets monthly and is responsible for the running of the Kindergarten. Parents have the opportunity to be involved in a number of sub-committees.
